Bad Days
I recently heard this phrase - a bad day for the ego is a good day for the soul.
What does that mean?
It means that life doesn’t always go as we would prefer it to. We’re often faced with challenges - sometimes ones so big they can bring us to our knees.
But it is precisely those challenges where we learn, grow and expand the most. It’s not always comfortable and the ego is going to be kicking and screaming as it fights to keep the status quo.
The more the shell of the ego cracks, the more the soul (the truth of who we are) can shine through.
The next time you’re faced with a challenge and you find yourself resisting what is happening - remember that the soul is extremely excited. Can you take that perspective, come to neutrality on the matter and say “Oh isn’t this interesting? I wonder who I will be on the other side of this.”
Stop Shoulding on Yourself
“I should workout more.” “I should be doing more.” “I should ______.”
Do you say this to yourself?
Why do we place all these demands on ourselves but never actually do what we say we “should” do?
It keeps us in a negative mindset, a bad state - one of feeling like we’re not enough.
Try replacing it with the word COULD.
Could implies we have a choice to do it. Could liberates us from feeling a weight of what we’re not doing to giving us the power back. Could means we can if we really want to.
Try it.

Perfection = Antithesis of Progress
Perfect is such an interesting concept because it means something different to all of us. Perfect to me could be completely different than perfect to someone else.
As I flowed in my yoga class yesterday trying to get every posture exactly right and judging myself if it wasn't perfect the teacher said something:
"Don't worry about being perfect - it only hinders what you're truly capable of."
Perfect is such an interesting concept because it means something different to all of us. Perfect to me could be completely different than perfect to someone else.
If we wait until things are "perfect" to do the things we want to do, they will NEVER get done. Nothing will ever be perfect and there is no perfect time.
Perfection is just a procrastination tactic. It's putting off things we want to do because of fear.
Do it today. Don't let the illusion of perfection get in the way.
In the spirit of non-perfection, I decided to include a different type of picture of me - first thing in the morning, makeup-less, hair a mess, in sweats etc. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is for a perfectionist like me. I will be cringing as it goes out :)

Time is a gift.
Our time is precious and when we spend it on people and things, that's a gift to them. We're gifting them our presence, our mental energy, time we will never get back.
With yesterday being Mother's Day, I was missing my mom and family in NJ and it made me think how time truly is a gift.
We've heard that before, but I'd like you to pause and think about this.
Our time is precious and when we spend it on people and things, that's a gift to them. We're gifting them our presence, our mental energy, time we will never get back.
When we spend it on people and things that we aren't excited about, it's draining and depletes us.
How often do we:
-->Spend too much time on our work?
-->Say yes to doing things we don't really want to do?
-->Put things on the back burner that we actually WANT to do?
What are you spending your precious time on?
Time is truly a gift. Use it wisely.

Lesson, Test or Gift
Everything in life is a lesson, test or gift. When you start seeing life this way, life becomes more fun - you don’t sweat the small stuff and you’re more thankful for the good.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I spent mine getting together with my closest friends for one of their bachelorette parties.
This is the first time we’ve all been together in over a year. There was a lot of talk about circumstances of the past year, frustrations over new rules and also lots of laughs and happiness about being together and celebrating.
It got me thinking...
When bad things happen in life we typically take the victim mentality where we protest and complain about the inconvenience or wonder why it’s happening to us.
When the good times come, we don’t take the time to truly appreciate them and we think the good will last forever.
Everything in life is a lesson, test or gift. When you start seeing life this way, life becomes more fun - you don’t sweat the small stuff and you’re more thankful for the good.
Someone cuts you off on the road:
—>Oh here’s a nice test to see if I can keep my composure
You get into an argument with your partner or friend:
—>Perhaps a lesson to listen more and try to see someone else’s point of view.
Get together with friends and everyone is happy and healthy:
—>Take a pause and be grateful for these moments and people in your life.
Life isn’t happening to us, it’s happening for us and there is something to learn in every situation.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Case of the Monday's
Monday's are an opportunity to start fresh! To appreciate a new week and what's to come! A chance to be a little better than you were last week.
I'd like to change the way we look at Monday's...
There are Universal Laws that govern our world and I'd like to bring your attention to the Law of Polarity.
It states that every thing and every situation has an opposite:
*Above & Below
*Inside & Outside
*Right & Wrong
*Good & Bad
You can FIND the positive in ANY situation if you look for it.
We tend to think of Monday's as negative or bad. Let's flip that script.
Monday's are an opportunity to start fresh! To appreciate a new week and what's to come! A chance to be a little better than you were last week.
REMEMBER: What we're experiencing now is a result of yesterday's thinking. If we want better days ahead, start thinking & feeling better today.
