Smile Through It

love working out.  There's something about pushing myself physically, feeling my heart pounding and the sense of accomplishment that comes with it that can be addicting.

During my last few workouts I noticed something.  I was constantly watching the clock, checking the miles, ticking the seconds down until the hard part was over.  Basically completely resisting the present moment and wishingfor the future so I could be done.

How often do we do that in life?!  Resist the current situation and think the future holds our salvation?!

So I tried something different.  Every time I felt really uncomfortable, I smiled.  Like a big ear-to-ear grin.  

What happened?!

I was instantly invigorated!  Felt a surge of energy and more power pulse through me - and just helped me feel better and accept the moment.  

Which makes me think - any time we face something boring or uncomfortable in life, just smile through it.  A big genuine smile has the ability to instantly change our state.
